In "Fearless and Free: How Smart Women Pivot - and Relaunch Their Careers," Wendy Sachs empowers women to lean into their strengths, grow their confidence, create opportunities, take risks, learn from failure, present themselves boldly and yes, pivot.
Right after college, Sachs started on Capitol Hill as a press secretary, moved into TV news working at Dateline, CNN and FOX, and then switched gears into PR, working at several startups. She was laid off a few times and freelanced, consulted and in a more random pivot, appeared on-air as the spokesperson for Trip Advisor.
In "Fearless and Free," Sachs talked to a wide range of women who faced down fears, roadblocks and failures to reinvent themselves. Spanning industries and ages, from Millennials and GenXers to Baby Boomers, the book weaves their insights and experiences together with current research and actionable advice. You'll learn how to capitalize on your skills, redefine and expand them; grow comfortable with being uncomfortable; boost your confidence; sell your story; engineer serendipity; nurture your network; shake off setbacks; brand yourself without bragging; build momentum; compete with digital natives; and reposition yourself if you're reentering the workforce.
Copies of "Fearless and Free" will be available for $23 at the event. Ticket/book bundles are available in advance.
