INTERFAITH ACTIVIST SHABBAT
~ Sharing Wisdom, Challenging Christian Hegemony, Celebrating Peace
~ Facilitated by Maggid Jonathan Furst & Minister Sarah Thompson

What happens when we come together as Jews, Christians and other people of faith to experience the revolutionary joy of Shabbat together? What happens when we welcome Rabbi Yeshua/Jesus as radical peace activist and teacher to our table? Join us in an experimental, experiential evening of prayer and celebration:

~ Short Kabbalat Shabbat service featuring selections from activist Jewish and Christian liturgy
~ Drash with Mennonite Minister Sara Thompson, Executive Director of Christian Peacemaker Teams
~ Potluck tisch (sacred dinner with song, teachings and discussion) to follow
Bring a vegetarian dish to share. Please be fragrance-free. All hearts welcome!

(Note: there is an elder dog in the home. No stairs, but also not wheelchair accessible)

-> Sarah Thompson is a Mennonite Minister and interspiritual theologian living who actively participates in Jewish life. Sarah is the Executive Director of Christian Peacemaker Teams and an Avodah fellow in Chicago, IL.

-> Jonathan Furst is a Maggid (Jewish story-carrier), interfaith chant leader, and the Spiritual Facilitator for Keneset HaLev - Community of the Heart. He is also a Holocaust resistance educator, nature-connection mentor, and part-time shepherd.
